Work From Home & Business Opportunities

February 9th, 2009 · 9 Comments

The current economic times have seen a dramatic rise in the number of people subscribing to Work From Home Schemes and Business Opportunities to either supplement their household income or replace an income from a lost job.

There are so many different Work From Home alternatives available today, and whilst many of them are based on multi level marketing, there are some which seem to be reaping good rewards for people who are prepared to follow a set business plan and put a real effort into running the business as a business.

The Work From Home theme has been on a steady rise in Australia for some time now. The introduction of broadband and the relatively low price of computer hardware & software has meant that many small businesses have substituted their shop-front for a website and are happily doing business without having to run the peak hour gauntlet Monday to Friday.

Working from home may suit a lot of people, but there are pitfalls. Discipline is the key word when running a home based business. Many people find that because they are in their home environment they get very easily distracted (kids, neighbours, TV, pets etc) and find it difficult to focus on the business at hand. There is no easy remedy for this, but the fact remains that you are running a business and if you don’t put in the required effort you will not reap the expected rewards.

If you do choose a work from home business be prepared and committed to running as a business and make sure you are free from distractions as you would be in a shop or office environment.

Having a home office is a great benefit. You save money and have more freedom.

Best thing I ever did was to set up my work from home.

I love working from home too! I get to work with my passion and be here when my son gets home from school. I can set my own hours and the most important thing is sticking to that. But I can also be so flexible. It is the best thing I have ever done!

Working from home is great, especially with a young family. You need to be disciplined, but being able to spread your workload over the whole week gives me much more time with the family than I could have otherwise.

Working from home is brilliant and a great way to keep overheads down and maximise your time, saving valuable travel hours. I enjoy working home based. I find screening all personal calls via message bank is good and making it known that you do work from home keeps your time effective.

I can work from any location that has a reliable internet connection so I am able to come & go as I please. Do all the school volunteering, spend school holidays away, go fishing, camping & spending quality time with my children. Patience & discipline is my key otherwise it will cost me. It is also great having unlimited income in this so called ‘financial crisis’.

    Hi:
I am a wedding specialist florist and wedding planner. I now work from our 5 acre home property. There I have Flexibility, my own hours and not constrained by shopping hours/ shopping centers where I have previously had my business.

My clients are relaxed, with a cuppa watching the blue wrens etc flying around as we chat designing and creating their wow factor wedding flowers and wedding day.

My web site is my greatest ally and working tool to show case some of my work.

I love being able to work around my family.
Yes you do have to be disciplined and get into a good routine but the benefits are wonderful.
My business is a combination of wonderful personal development and an extraordinary income. I love every minute of it.
