It’s surprising not to see oo.com.au, Yahoo and driveaway. You would have thought that they would all be there.

  • 2 Meg // Jun 7, 2007 at 10:43 pm

    Hi Brad

I’ll be doing an update shortly. oo.com.au may well make the list. Driveaway – that’s not even close, and Yahoo – well they don’t have an Aussie website (as in it’s not on a .com.au domain), they have http://au.yahoo.com and it doesn’t rank separately for the subdomain.

Remember these are popular Australian sites in Australia.

    Thanks for stopping by.

Thanks for the list – I like it much better than the public list you get from alexa directly, because it lists only the Aussie sites.

Nice to see my favourite site whirlpool.net.au near the top! Just wish more people used it’s advice…

    PS ranking.com lists dlook at #32 :)

  • 4 admin // Sep 7, 2007 at 9:45 am

    Thanks Mark

We thought it was a “home grown” way of looking at the list. I agree, Whirlpool is an excellent site.

Yes, it’s great about ranking.com, but hardly anyone’s heard of it!

Does Dlook get more than 1 million visitors a month?

  • 6 admin // Dec 17, 2007 at 10:27 pm

    Hi Jon

    Not yet ;)

  • 7 Fred Schebesta // Jan 16, 2008 at 12:55 pm

How is Funbox.com up there? #76. I am assuming the adult sites are removed.

  • 8 admin // Jan 17, 2008 at 10:09 pm

    Hi Fred

It is a list of Australian websites, popular in Australia. Funbox fit the rankings at the time. From recollection, I don’t remember any Australian adult sites eligible for the list, but you are correct – they would not be included.

I’m not quite sure on your formula but this is by far the best and truest top 100 list for Aussie sites I have seen to date.
    Great work.

It is nice to see dlook is getting better and better. Does dlook has some meaning?

  • 11 Australian Real Estate // Jun 12, 2008 at 6:06 pm

Hello Meg, great list and well done in putting this site together.

I’m not sure how long it will last, but our niche property site PropertyNow, just ( at least temporarily ) outgunned every major real estate franchise in Australia on June 12th. 2008.

We scored 3rd place in Google for the heavy hitter phrase – real estate.

Apart from an unashamed attempt at some free publicity, this post is about someone having a win for all the little mom and dad sites out there.

We are up against some very heavy wallets and deep pockets but it can be done.

Again great blog and I hope we’ll soon be appearing in your list
